HAVENLY – Contemporary Small NYC Bedroom Redesign by Roche
This was from Havenly’s real projects. Original problem to solve was to design a functional and glam space for Emma, with a small square footage- to help her relax and escape the city. Emma’s Havenly designer, Sarah, created a cozy & contemporary bedroom retreat, as seen on the photo above.
I, on the other hand, will make a bigger bang (I am loud! LOL) and will redesign with different options in different styles, just to show how a small space can look beautiful and spectacular even with a small budget. You don’t need to hire an expensive interior designer to create an expensive-looking room :) See images below.
As Havenly would say……Mind if I show off ???

BOHO CHIC ROOM
This is my take on Emma’s room- Boho Chic version. I love to paint rooms so I will paint at least 1 side of Emma’s wall :) White is BORING. (I only like white on bed sheets.) So I will paint the ceiling too- just half a shade lighter than that focal wall. Because this is my blog and because I can :) (If you’re house is just eggshell white, do yourself a favor and paint it anything but white) I made the room’s accent color gold. Because gold is gold! Love how all the pieces I chose fit well together, from the wall carved wall art piece to the Asian-inspired hanging gold pendant lights. It’s like you’re in Bali, and not in NYC. The last piece I “shopped” for was that ornate dresser from Ebay. It can pass as boho chic, vintage chic or Parisian chic. For now, it will be boho chic :) What a steal for $700! I’d take it if I was redecorating and it was my color scheme. It’s available as of today. 4/30/2019 :) Bid. Bid. Buy. Or forever hold your “piece.”
Roche Long's redesign # 2
This is more my style- The Classic Chic version. I love all of Macy’s bedding collections, so I chose that one first. Every furniture and details were inspired by, and bloomed from that grey rose bedsheet :) The spectacular elegant mirror from Horchow is actually a floor mirror, but I just turned it horizontally to occupy and reflect more space. (therefore, creating an illusion of a larger space) This is the most expensive item but totally worth it!
Roche Long's redesign # 3
Garden Chic style for the garden & flower lovers :) Again, I love all of Macy’s bedding collections, so I chose the bedding first. Every furniture and details were inspired by, and bloomed from the beautiful watercolor floral bedsheet :) Everything went with the floral flow, including the watercolor bird wall art and the wall paint/ssss. Basically, any color from the bedsheet can be the color of the wall…..or your mood! Whichever is the priority of your life.
